Hesiod tells us that Atlas was forced to hold the entire vault of heaven on his shoulders at the behest of Zeus, just as our central pivot holds the entire structure, it is circular in shape and represents a crossing in the dream world.

In addition to its strong aesthetic character, it manages light, creating various combinations for the user. The two faces of the Atlante allow the user to create customised colour combinations and textures; also changing the actual lighting performance of the product. The components are united and held by the central pivot, hence the name atlante, the one that holds it all together.
